South Africa-based reggae musician and promoter Born African has resurfaced with new music.
The artist, who has in the past years brought into the country several reggae artists, is set to drop two tracks ‘Nkhopa’ and ‘New Day’.
Born Afrikan said he is keeping up pace in his music career and that the two tracks are a follow-up to his recently released album titled The Journey, which features some top reggae acts including Morgan Heritage, Capleton, Turbulence, Lutan Fyah and Fantan Mojah.
The artist, well known for the track ‘Mama Afrika’ which enjoyed airplay in the past years, said he was engaged with other undertakings, hence putting a break on music.
His music dates back to mid-1980s when, as a teenager living in Blantyre, he found himself attending teen time music sessions as well as participating in competitions.

“I am passionate about music, it is a powerful vessel that I continue to express myself and also use it to speak for the voiceless. Through music I speak about love, corruption, oppression and the self-hate that is mostly happening in society,” he said.
The artist, who has also shared the stage with top artists such as Jamaica’s Luciano, called upon fellow artists to strive for quality in their work.
“We are pushing the tides as far as music is concerned. We just have to keep on making sure we do it well,” Born Afrikan said.
The artist’s other albums include The Past, Present and The Future.
