Zimbabwe Castle Lager Premier Soccer League (PSL) side Caps United have approached Mighty Wanderers and Silver Strikers for possible friendly matches next month.
This follows Caps’ confirmation that they will conduct their pre-season preparations in the country in mid February.
The Green Machine released their pre-season programme on their official Facebook page yesterday.
Wanderers Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Panganeni Ndovi said Caps had requested to play them during their tour of Malawi next month.
Ndovi said nothing concrete was agreed between the two teams during their discussions.

“Indeed, they verbally approached us. They asked for our availability to play friendly match but we told them that we are busy with cup matches,” Ndovi said.
This could be a good opportunity for Wanderers to play an international friendly match as they are planning to take part in this year’s Caf Champions League.
Last season, Wanderers travelled to Mozambique, alongside Civil Service United, where they took part in a pre-season tournament against UD Songo and CD Lichinga Silver CEO Patrick Chimimba said the Harare giants also approached them.
“Caps verbally approached us on the possibility of playing friendly matches. We informed them [about the need] to send us a formal request so that we can see how best we can assist them as the season is still underway,” Chimimba said.

Meanwhile, FCB Nyasa Big Bullets CEO Albert Chigoga has said Caps did not approach them.
Caps recently signed two Malawi National Football Team players, Chawanangwa Kaonga and Lloyd Njaliwa, ahead of the new season.
Kaonga joined the Green Machine after leaving Zambian club Zanaco whereas Njaliwa moved to Zimbabwe after spending three years at Mozambican side Costa do Sol.
Former Flames midfielder Joseph Kamwendo is part of Caps’ technical panel setup.
He returned to Caps last year after playing for the club in 2005, when he became the first foreigner to win the Zimbabwe PSL player of the year award.
Sports analyst Parry Chinyama said Caps would offer local teams a good test.
“It is a good opportunity to play an international friendly match. The teams will learn a lot from each other,” he said.
Caps last toured Malawi in 2014, when they participated in the Zambezi Cup.
