The Malawi Women’s National Football Team, the Scorchers, have suffered a big blow after captain Tabitha and her sister Temwa Chawinga were ruled out of this weekend’s Fifa Series due to injuries.
Football Association of Malawi (Fam) operations director Gomezgani Zakazaka confirmed their absence Wednesday.
“Tabitha got injured last week and is awaiting the results of her scan. Temwa’s club released her, but we decided to give her ample time to fully recover as part of managing her injury,” Zakazaka said.
