FDH Bank Premiership sides Creck Sporting Club and Civil Service United could face points deduction this season.
This comes after the two teams failed to fully comply with some of the Club Licencing requirements ahead of the FDH Bank Premiership season this weekend.
Football Association of Malawi (Fam) on Tuesday granted full licences to 14 clubs after its Club Licencing First Instant Body (FIB) reviewed the applications on April 4, 2026.
Fam Competitions and Club Licencing Manager Clement Kafwafwa said the two teams have been given until May 21, 2026 to address the shortcomings or face an initial four-point deduction in the FDH Bank Premiership standings.
“Continued non-compliance will attract an additional three-point deduction at the end of every subsequent month until the issues are resolved,” Kafwafwa said.

Fam did not explain why the two teams were not granted full licences.
Times Sport has established that both Creck and Civil did not submit their audited accounts for the 2025 football season.
Civil board chairperson Rashid Ntelera downplayed the matter.
“When we asked Fam, they said we did not submit audited accounts. We explained to them that the team’s accounts are audited by the National Audit Office. We are surprised why Fam did not understand the clarifications we made,” Ntelera said.

On his part, Creck General Secretary Aaron Ntaya refused to press a panic button.
“We will sort out everything by Friday. We cannot fail to comply,” he said.
Creck will start the 2026 FDH Bank Premiership against Red Lions at Zomba Stadium on Sunday whereas Civil will host FCB Nyasa Big Bullets at Civo Stadium on Saturday.
Fourteen teams that got licences are Mighty Wanderers, FCB Nyasa Big Bullets, Silver Strikers, Ekhaya FC, Red Lions FC, Goshen City Dedza Dynamos, MAFCO, Kamuzu Barracks, Blue Eagles, Masters FC, Mitundu Baptist, Moyale Barracks, Karonga United and Chitipa United.
At the same stage last year, a total of 11 teams were granted full licences whereas four teams got provisional licences.
For clubs to be granted licences, they must meet such as financial capacity and legal ownership
