Energy experts and economists have warned that bringing back diesel generators to ease Malawi’s electricity crisis could saddle consumers and government with a huge financial burden while offering only temporary relief.
Their concerns come as the Electricity Generation Company (Egenco) plans to bring diesel generators back online by December to supplement declining hydroelectricity generation.
