Trending musician Christina Kholiyo’s dream of owning a land came into reality on Wednesday when she received a K6.5 million plot, which is in Lilongwe courtesy of Eagles Real Estate Consultants.
The 74-year old artist, who goes by the moniker Jetu, received the plot in the company of her grandson Emm Dee, who also happens to be her manager and celebrated fashionista and entrepreneur Dorothy Kingston, who initiated the mission.
Jetu, who continues to trend on social media having recently dropped a track titled ‘Chakwaza’, told the media in March this year that her wish was to own a land as well as travel to South Africa to perform and also see her only remaining child, who trekked to the rainbow nation in search of greener pastures.
“I am excited that now I have my own land, this has been my dream especially with the fact that I am being kept by my grandson,” she said.

Based in Bangwe, Blantyre, Jetu hailed Eagles Real Estate Consultants for giving him a land and also thanked Dorothy Kingston for initiating the move.
Speaking during the handover of the plot and the documents, Eagles Real Estate Consultants representative Roashan Thole, said the company was impressed with Jetu’s exploits of using music to earn a living hence decided to support her.
“She is an example to elderly people in the country that they can utilise their talents to make money. As a company, we have been moved by her doings and we thought of giving him a plot,” Thole said.
Dorothy, who is a wife to Amapiano star Zeze, who also happens to be Jetu’s fan, said now that the artist has a land, it was time to build a house for her.

“Her wish was to have a land and now she has it but then she needs a house. We need to mobilise resources to build a house for her and so, I am calling upon well-wishers to help with materials,” she said.
Jetu has come out to show that the elderly have all what it takes to excel in different areas including music by working with young people.
Since she came to the limelight, she has attracted interest from many event organisers and has been sharing the stage with several renowned artists with her recent outing at the Malawi Business and Applied Sciences (Mubas) showdown in Blantyre where she won the hearts of many people.
