The Super League of Malawi (Sulom) has charged FCB Nyasa Big Bullets for misconduct following an incident that happened during their league match with Blue Eagles at Kamuzu Stadium in Blantyre last month.
Sulom, in a statement Wednesday, says Bullets had been given 48 hours to respond to the issue.
“The public is informed that Super League of Malawi has charged FCB Nyasa Big Bullets and given [them] 48 hours to respond. The matter will thereafter be looked into by the disciplinary committee of Sulom independently,” the statement reads.
The alleged incident happened in the 75th minute of the match when a fan descended from the stands and stole a towel belonging to Eagles’ goalkeeper Joshua Waka.
The unknown fan beat the home team’s security detail, made his way to the Eagles’ goalkeeper area and stole the towel before making his way back to the stand.

But Bullets Chief Executive Officer Albert Chigoga said he had not received official communication from Sulom as of Wednesday.
“I am hearing this from you. I will comment once I get the official communication,” Chigoga said.
Bullets lost the match 1-0.
Last week, Sulom handed Silver Strikers a suspended stadium ban and fined them K1.75 million over misconduct in their match against Mafco, which ended goal-less at Silver Stadium in Lilongwe.

The league governing body’s disciplinary committee found Silver guilty on three charges of failing to control the actions of their fans, who poured a fluid substance on Mafco’s goalkeeper Christopher Mikuwa, among other things.
