Midfielder Francisco Madinga has made a sensational claim that he refused an offer of K10 million from Mighty Wanderers to extend his contract.
Madinga disclosed this after parting ways with Wanderers following the expiry of his contract Wednesday.`
He said Wanderers’ offer was below his expectations.
“The club wanted me to sign a three-year contract for K10 million but I was not happy with it.
“Secondly, they gave me an option to sign a two-year deal for K8 million, which I also refused,” Madinga said.

Wanderers, in a statement, confirmed the departure of the talented midfielder Wednesday.
“Francisco has informed the club of his decision not to renew his contract as he intends to pursue an opportunity with a club in Georgia, where he previous played,” the statement reads.
But Madinga Wednesday contradicted the club saying he had no offers from Georgia.
“I am not going to Georgia. That is not true,” he said.

Wanderers Chief Executive Officer Panganeni Ndovi claimed that Madinga refused to commit his future to the club.
Madinga re-joined Wanderers following the expiry of his contract with Botswana side Jwaneng Galaxy in 2023.
The talented midfielder had a stint in Georgia, having played for Dira Gori.
Meanwhile, former Super League of Malawi (Sulom) President Tiya Somba Banda has resigned from his position as Wanderers board member.
Wanderers Board Secretary Chancy Gondwe said Somba Banda’s resignation was in connection with his role as Caf General Coordinator.
“To ensure the integrity and fairness of the competition, it was necessary for Mr. Tiya Somba Banda to step down from his position,” the statement reads.
Wanderers have since accepted his resignation.
Somba Banda was not readily available for his comment Wednesday.
