FCB Nyasa Big Bullets are itching to take to the pitch against five-time Caf Champions League winners TP Mazembe in a match scheduled for Bingu National Stadium in Lilongwe on Sunday.
Bullets captain Precious Sambani said they cannot wait to face Mazembe for the first time ever.
“Playing against such a team, with a track record on the continent, will be something else. It will be such a great experience. But we will not be giving them any space because we see a win as a must,” Sambani said.
After Sunday’s match, the two teams will meet again in the second leg on September 30 at Stade Du TP Mazembe in Lubumbashi, Democratic Republic of Congo.

Sambani said the playing squad understands the need to use home ground advantage in Sunday’s encounter.
“Of course, we will be facing Mazembe for the first time but they say for you to become the best, you must beat the best. We will indeed be up against a good team and there is no question about that. But playing against them will motivate us to prove a point.
“Our opponents may be among the best in Africa but they are not unbeatable. We just have to win at home and take it from there. It is quite a possibility to finish off the job in the second leg,” he said.
Meanwhile, former Mazembe and Malawi National Football Team midfielder Joseph Kamwendo said Mazembe are expected to arrive at Kamuzu International Airport in Lilongwe this morning.

Kamwendo, who signed a five-year deal at Mazembe in 2013, indicated that he would play an ambassadorial role for his former club during its stay in Malawi.
“I was approached by the club to help out. It appears they still respect me so much after all those years in Lubumbashi. They told me that they will use their own jet.
“Reconnecting with my former team after many years will be a great experience. I have already tipped the technical team and the players about what they need to do against Bullets. The arrangement is that I will be with the team until it plays Bullets on Sunday,” he said.
Bullets sailed into the second preliminary round of the Caf Champions League after beating Dragon FC of Equatorial Guinea 3-0 on goal aggregate.
