FCB Nyasa Big Bullets have secured the services of their star attacker Chikumbutso Salima for another three years.
This means the Malawi National Football Team player will be a Bullets player until 2028.
Salima, who blossomed under for former Bullets Reserve coach Enos Chatama who is now at Ekhaya FC in the same role, was not short of suitors as his current contract was due to expire on January 2 next year.

Bullets Chief Executive Officer Albert Chigoga said they are excited.
“We are happy to extend our relationship with the player and tie him down to a new deal. He was not in a hurry and we did not want to put him under pressure as he was on national duty at the Cosafa Cup in South Africa. So after his return we sat down to complete the deal,” Chigoga said.

Salima’s manager Cephas Lingani said the player has indeed committed to the People’s Team.
“We looked at what the player wanted and also his future, and settled for a longer stay at Bullets. It is pleasing that he is staying,” Lingani said.
Salima himself described the new deal as a good decision after reports that he would be leaving.
“I know a lot of things were being said about my future here at Bullets. But I have made a good decision to continue serving a team that has helped me in many ways. What remains is that I should help the team to continue delivering. I see my future in this team and I will do a lot for it,” he said.

Bullets coach Peter Mponda said he is pleased to see Salima staying.
“This is a welcome development and I praise the player’s mentality. He is talent-driven and understands the value of loyalty. He is enjoying great form and his decision to stay speaks volumes about his focus and vision.
“He is not just part of the present. He is part of our long-term plans. Players like him are the foundation of what we are building. Credit to the player and the management for getting it done,” Mponda told Bullets’ website.
Salima is currently one of the best players in the country and sits at the summit of goal assists in the TNM Super League where he has five from seven matches.
