Great Angels Choir has this year clocked 20 years of ministering the word of God through music.
The Lilongwe-based gospel group, which runs with the signature ‘The People’s Choir, decided to celebrate the anniversary on Christmas.
“We thought the best day to do it was Christmas simply because we celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ and we have always held concerts on Christmas. So, we thought we should do a double mega celebration for Christmas and the anniversary,” the group’s music director, Ephraim Zonda, said on Wednesday.
He said the Mega Celebration Concert which starts Thursday— before hitting Chill Spot in Mchinji District on Friday and, then, Robin’s Park in Blantyre on January 1, 2026— will give people special performances.
“To be where we are today and hit 20 years is not easy; it has been a long journey full of ups and downs and God has been there for us,” Zonda said.
He said all the acts billed to perform on the day were ready to bless souls.
