Malawi National Football Team Coach Kalisto Pasuwa is expected to have a full squad on Monday, in readiness for the 2026 Fifa World Cup qualifiers against Namibia and Liberia.
Football Association of Malawi (Fam) Competitions and Communications Director Gomezgani Zakazaka said this Thursday as the Flames regrouped.
Pasuwa announced a 26-member squad for the two Fifa World Cup qualifiers, dominated by foreign country-based players, on Tuesday.
So far, only United States of America-based Malango Mayele has arrived in the country.
Zakazaka said Malango arrived on Tuesday to finalise documentation regarding his citizenship.

Zakazaka said all the foreign country-based players were expected to jet in on Monday before the team possibly leaves for Francistown in Botswana from Blantyre, likely on Wednesday.
“We are on the right track to have all the players in camp. I am sure that all the players that were called for these two matches will be available by Monday,” he said.
At the squad announcement event, Fam indicated that the Flames would regroup in Lilongwe yesterday, ready for preparations for the two crucial fixtures.
The Flames will play Namibia on September 5 in Botswana and, then, host Liberia at Bingu National Stadium in Lilongwe three days later.

The Flames have just won two matches in group H of the qualifiers, having defeated Sao Tome and Liberia, and are in fifth position with six points.
Tunisia qualified for the Fifa World Cup as they top the group with 16 points while Namibia are chasing the second position, as they trail the leaders by four points.
Meanwhile, football analyst Parry Chinyama has said having more foreign country-based players in Flames’ squad will bring strength to the team.
“The presence of the foreign country-based players is very crucial and paramount to boosting the morale of members of the squad. We need these players and tap from their experience,” Chinyama said.
