FCB Nyasa Big Bullets Coach Kalisto Pasuwa has turned his attention to fellow Zimbabweans after signing two players in the just-ended domestic transfer window.
This comes after Bullets signed attacking midfielder Ronald Chitiyo on a three-year contract, a few days after defender Collin Mujuru joined the club.
Mujuru made his debut for Bullets in the 7-6 post-match victory over Silver Strikers in the 2024 NBS Bank Charity Shield at Bingu National Stadium on Saturday.
However, Chitiyo has reunited with Pasuwa, having worked together at Dynamos FC and the Zimbabwe National Football Team.
Despite dominating on the local scene, Bullets have struggled in the Caf Champions League, in which they have failed to qualify for the group stage since 2003.
Pasuwa has blended his squad with foreign players as well as youngsters.
The acquisition of Chitiyo and Mujuru has brought the number of foreign players in Bullets camp to four, after Kenyan defender Clyde Senaji and Nigerian striker Babatunde Adepoju.
Last year, Bullets had three foreign players, namely Senaji, Collins Okumu and Chinedu Okaffor.
However, only Senaji was retained after living up to expectations.
After joining Bullets Tuesday, Chitiyo, also known as Rooney in Zimbabwe, said playing abroad was always an achievement.
“It is a challenge to me because Bullets have been winning before and for me to be part of them means I should keep on winning. To be playing football outside your country is like an achievement because it is not easy for people to accept you when you are coming from another country,” he told Bullets media.
Chitiyo played for Dynamos, Caps United, Harare City, Monomotapa United, Douglas Warriors, Simba Bora and Tunisian Sporting SC.
Despite winning four trophies last season, Bullets have been the busiest team on the transfer market, having signed seven players. Apart from the foreigners, Bullets have signed goalkeeper Innocent Nyasulu, midfielders Lloyd Aaron, Mathews Masamba and Sean McBrams.
