Amaryllis Hotel gave Blantyre residents a cultured showdown that took them to the New Year in classic fashion when it hosted a Midnight in Africa event.
It was all about bidding farewell to 2025 and welcoming 2026 in elegance with people embracing traditional wears that showed the power of African culture with the environment in the Orchid room also given the African scenery.
While Orchid was embracing the Africanism in its doings on the second floor, down at Stakeout within the same hotel, other revellers were celebrating in a different way.
Midnight in Africa treated people to a variety of activities showing the beauty of Africa and it included traditional dances with artists such as Kell Kay, who travelled all the way from Lilongwe treating the audience to his love songs.
Kell Kay won the hearts of many people when he served a number of songs with the audience mostly ladies singing along to most of them.
