SHOCKED—A Wanderers player reacts after losing

Things have gone sour at Mighty Mukuru Wanderers, with the technical panel taking the flak following the team’s exit from the FDH Bank Cup.

Wanderers lost 1-0 to Mafco in a semi-final tie at Kamuzu Stadium to bow out of the FDH Bank Cup.

The team’s board secretary Chancy Gondwe accused the Mark Harrison-led coaching panel of failing to reach the final.

“It is very sad and pathetic considering all the investment that has gone into this project by the president [Thomson Mpinganjira].

“This is what happens when you have the best players but you fail to field them and win. We have a serious technical problem,” he said.

Mpinganjira said he did not believe that Mafco had defeated the Nomads at home.

“I am surprised that we lost,” he said.

However, Wanderers Assistant Coach Albert Mpinganjira said the accusations emerge whenever the team loses.

“This is what happens when a team loses but when we win nobody speaks,” Mpinganjira said.

Wanderers have Wisdom Mpinganjira and Isaac Kaliati as wing backs while captain Stanley Sanudi has been used as a holding midfielder, instead of his natural fullback role.

Interestingly, the Nomads have one of the best holding midfielders in Balikinho Mwakanyongo but he keeps on warming the bench.
