Mighty Mukuru Wanderers failed to use home ground advantage to go top of the TNM Super League after collecting just a point against Kamuzu Barracks (KB) following a 1-1 draw at Kamuzu Stadium in Blantyre.
KB were the first to score through midfielder Gregory Nachipo in the 16th minute but Wanderers drew level through defender Lawrence Chaziya in the 51st minute.
Nomads Coach Mark Harrison described the result as frustrating.
“I am not happy with the result. This is a match we should have won. I expected my team to dominate possession but we missed a lot of chances. We did not play well in the first half,” Harrison said.
His KB counterpart Alick Chirwa said referee Zebron Lengani should have disallowed Wanderers’ goal for offside.

“The referee and his assistants aided Wanderers’ goal and it appears they really wanted the team to win,” Chirwa said.
The result left Wanderers still lying third on the table with 37 points from 20 matches while KB remain on position six with 29 points from a similar number of fixtures.
Chitipa remain at the summit of the table with 39 points from 21 matches.
