The Government of Morocco Tuesday handed over 500 metric tonnes (mt) of NPK fertiliser to the Government of Malawi.
The donation, received at Smallholder Farmers Fertiliser Revolving Fund of Malawi (SFFRFM) offices in Kanengo, Lilongwe, is expected to enhance agricultural productivity and support national growth.
Agriculture Minister Roza Fatch Mbilizi described the donation as timely.
“The people of Malawi are greatly appreciative of this gesture,” Mbilizi said.

In his remarks, Morocco Ambassador to Malawi, Oumiyer Mohammed, said the donation was more than a material gesture but a symbol of solidarity and friendship between people of the two countries.
“We are proud to support Malawi’s efforts to achieve food security and sustainable development and we are confident that this contribution will have a lasting impact on the lives of the Malawian people,” Mohammed said.
The donation partially fulfils a commitment made by the Kingdom of Morocco to Malawi in November 2025.
A second consignment of fertiliser is expected to arrive within the next two weeks, further increasing the country’s agricultural inputs.
