Civil Service United Coach Oscar Kaunda has written the club, asking for mutual termination of his contract.
In September last year, Kaunda was reassigned to other responsibilities within the club following the team’s poor string of results in the TNM Super League.
However, he has stayed close to four months without being given the responsibility.
A letter, which Times Sport has seen, indicates that Kaunda is expected to meet club officials today to discuss issues related to his future.
“I am happy that the club has been fulfilling everything in my contract but I think time has come for me to go. As a coach, I cannot stay idle for four months. I need to grow as a coach,” Kaunda said.

Following Kaunda’s misfortune, Abasi Makawa, who is also Civil Service United Women’s Coach, was appointed interim mentor until the end of the season.
Makawa managed to save the club from relegation in the just-ended season.
Civil General Secretary Edgar Chipalanjira confirmed that the executive will meet today to discuss the matter.
“We received a letter from Kaunda and, as such, we have a meeting on the matter. We will find a solution in the best interest of Kaunda and the club,” Chipalanjira said.

Kaunda signed a three-year contract following the departure of veteran mentor Franco Ndawa.
He has two years remaining on his contract.
Kaunda has been in and out of Civil.
He also coached Mighty Mukuru Wanderers and Karonga United before returning to Civil.
