Flames on-and-off midfielder Peter Banda is in Lusaka, Zambia, where he is expected to pen a two-year deal with the country’s Super League champions Red Arrows, subject to passing a medical.
Banda, who is now a free agent after leaving Tanzanian side Singida Big Stars due to contractual wrangles, is expected to be pocketing K3 million monthly if the deal goes through.
Both his mother Chipulumutso Saenda and the deal blocker Global Sports Director Haroon Cassim confirmed the development in separate interviews Monday.
Cassim said they snubbed two clubs including a South African side and settled for Arrows because of their reputation.

“We settled for Red Arrows because they are champions of Zambia and they will play in the Caf Champions League.

“We, at Global Sports, are happy for him and we wish him all the best as he is set to restart his football career, having been sidelined with a shoulder injury,” Cassim said.
Banda’s mother Saenda expressed delight over Banda’s move to Zambia.
“My son has gone through a lot in the past 12 months or so but God is good. I am optimistic that Peter will do better again because he is a fighter,” she said.
Banda returned to FCB Nyasa Big Bullets in 2021 after a short stint with Tanzanian giants Simba Sports Club. He also played for Sheriff Tiraspol of Moldova where he scored five goals in 2021.
