Renowned musician Piksy, who is also one of the brains behind Usauver series, has resurfaced with a new track titled ‘Chizungu’.
The artist, who has several songs to his credit, said yesterday that the new release was deliberately layered with the title ‘Chizungu’.
“While the word commonly refers to the English language, the song draws from the fuller Chichewa expression Chizungulire, a feeling of being overwhelmed, dizzy or driven mentally off balance,” the artist, who goes by the signature ‘Chimfana Chodziwika ndi Boma’, said.
He said this wordplay forms the foundation of the record, allowing the meaning to unfold through the lyrics and melody.
The single is produced by Tricky Beatz, marking the first collaboration between Piksy and the producer.

The pairing delivers a smooth, contemporary sound that complements Piksy’s expressive storytelling and bilingual lyrical approach.
As the track unfolds, Piksy uses vivid imagery and carefully chosen lines to describe an experience that feels powerful and hard to explain.
The repeated hook ‘Umandipatsa chizungu’ symbolises emotional disorientation—a state where feelings take over and clarity fades.
‘Chizungu’ blends Chichewa and English in a way that feels natural and distinctly Malawian, highlighting Piksy’s creativity and continued artistic growth.

Piksy said the track, which hit the market yesterday, is also an early Christmas gift to music lovers.
“I am happy with the strides made and I loved every moment we had in working on the song. I hope people will also love it,” he said.
