The new performance consultant-cum-coach for the Malawi National Netball Team, the Queens, Debbie Fuller is hopeful that her team may break into the world’s top seven and qualify for the 2027 Netball World Cup.
Fuller made the remarks after she was unveiled in Blantyre Wednesday.
The former New Zealand netball star has been tasked with guiding the Queens to a top-seven finish at the upcoming Commonwealth Games in Scotland this year.
She expressed confidence that he would achieve the targets set by Netball Association of Malawi (Nam) in her one-year contract.
“From what I have seen in training, the girls are willing and dedicated. They only need a bit of polishing. As we are aware, it takes time to build quality players,” she said.

Nam President Vitumbiko Gubuduza was also confident that Fuller would restore the team’s glory.
“At the Africa Netball Cup, we noted that the team had gaps. So, we agreed to explore other training methods in building the capacity of our players. The training methods include sports science, which the new consultant is bringing,” Gubuduza said.
Nico Group Head of Marketing and Customer Experience Taweni Gondwe- Xaba pledged to continue supporting the Queens.
“We, as Nico, are very much willing to support Nam so that our team improves. This is the reason we have always supported them and as we both have short and long-term targets,” she said
