Malawi National Netball Team goalkeeper-cum-shooter Tendai Masamba has joined Malaysian side Terengganu Marvels Netball Team on a short-term deal.
Masamba has moved to Malaysia, where she is expected to spend at least 50 days after she helped Blaze Dolphins Netball Team win the Deloitte Netball Super League (NSL), when they defeated Sneakers 65-46 in the final to claim their eighth title and fifth consecutive championship.

The Tigresses all-rounder confirmed that she had signed a short-deal with Marvels following a successful stint with Dolphins.
“My stay in Singapore was both an honour and a defining experience in my career. I was invited by Netball Singapore to help strengthen and elevate the National Super League by integrating international players into various teams.
“This opportunity also came through the support of StepOut 7, an agency I am signed with, which plays a key role in connecting me with teams and creating opportunities [for me] to be competing abroad. I had the privilege of representing Blaze Dolphins Netball Team, playing in my preferred positions of goal shooter and goal attack,” Masamba said.

She hailed Dolphins for supporting her throughout the campaign, saying she was exposed to a good environment.
“From the very beginning, I was welcomed into a team environment that was both supportive and highly competitive. The players, management and supporters created a sense of belonging that made the experience truly special. I am proud to say that what started as a professional opportunity quickly turned into something more personal. I now consider many of the people I met in Singapore as family,” she said.
Meanwhile, Masamba has said she is determined to flourish at Marvels to continue raising her profile.
“I will continue to play in my roles as goal shooter and goal attack. The transition has been smooth, thanks to another welcoming and driven team environment,” she said.

Netball Association of Malawi General Secretary Yamikani Khungwa-Kauma encouraged Masamba to continue putting a lot of effort into the initiative.
“She is actually marketing Malawi’s netball and, through this programme, other up-and-coming players can benefit too,” she said.
