Silver Strikers have asked the Super League of Malawi (Sulom) to disclose identities of members that are serving in sub-committees of the league governing body.
The concerns come after several clubs expressed reservations over how Sulom is handling TNM Super League fixtures this season.

In a letter dated May 28 2024, which Times Sport has seen, Silver Chief Executive Officer Patrick Chimimba says disclosing the identities of sub-committee members would promote transparency and accountability.
“The knowledge of who is responsible for specific areas within Sulom will not only enhance our communication and collaboration but also foster deeper trust between the league’s governing body and its member clubs.
“By revealing the identities of sub-committee members, Sulom would be taking a significant step towards reinforcing the ethos of transparency and accountability, which we believe are critical for the integrity and success of our league,” Chimimba said.

Unlike its mother body Football Association of Malawi (Fam), Sulom does not make public names of people serving in its sub-committees.
On several occasions, Super League clubs have been asking Sulom to disclose the identities of members of the fixtures sub-committee.
In an interview Tuesday, Sulom Vice General Secretary Donnex Chilonga expressed ignorance on the matter.
“I have not received the letter from Silver. Let me check with the General Secretary (Williams Banda) or the secretariat [on the issue of] the letter,” Chilonga said.

When contacted Tuesday, Sulom Chief Executive Officer Faith Mzungu Vilakati refused to comment on the issue.
However, sports analyst Parry Chinyama said Silver have a valid point in asking for th disclosure of members appointed to sub-committees.
“Out of curiosity, Silver could be aware of some individuals in the committees that are capable of influencing decisions or might be attached to other clubs within the Super League. It will be of essence that Sulom discloses these names for the sake of transparency,” Chinyama said.
Several clubs have said fixtures for the 2024 season are not balanced.
Silver have already played six home matches out of their eight opening matches of the season.
