Silver Strikers have summoned coach Pieter de Jongh to a disciplinary hearing today.
The Dutchman faces an uncertain future at the club after failing to meet targets set before the start of the just-ended season.
A letter, which Times Sport has seen, indicates that the disciplinary hearing was rescheduled after he failed to attend to it last week.
“I am writing to inform you about the rescheduling of the disciplinary hearing that was initially set for January 12 2024. Unfortunately, despite all the disciplinary committee members being present, the hearing could not proceed as planned due to your absence. Our attempts to reach [you] through email and phone were unsuccessful,” Silver’s letter reads.
Silver Strikers Chief Executive Officer Patrick Chimimba confirmed the development Thursday.

“This assessment is a comprehensive one as it has an effect on how we, as a club, move forward,” Chimimba said.
De Jongh, who signed a performance-based two-year contract, was tasked to win the TNM Super League and at least two cups.
However, Silver finished as runners-up to FCB Nyasa Big Bullets with 57 points, three points behind the champions.
In an interview from Kenya Thursday, de Jongh could neither deny nor confirm that he would attend the hearing.

“Based on recent communications with Silver Strikers Limited and myself, the position is very clear and we all know what needs to be done,” he said.
In his first season, he also guided Silver to the Castel Challenge Cup final, in which they lost 4-2 on post-match penalties to Bullets after 1-1 stalemate in regulation time.
They also lost 3-1 to Mafco on post-match penalties in Airtel Top 8 semi-final match.
