Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) giants Tout Puissant (TP) Mazembe have agreed transfer fees for Mighty Mukuru Wanderers defender Lawrence Chaziya and FCB Nyasa Big Bullets attacking midfielders Lanjesi Nkhoma and Patrick Mwaungulu.
The three Malawi National Football Team players were expected to fly out of the country Sunday to DRC via Zambia subject to visas.
Mazembe had already agreed on the transfer fee for Chaziya and Nkhoma last week but there was an impasse on Mwaungulu’s transfer fee.
In an interview Sunday, Mazembe local representative Felix Ngamanya Sapao confirmed that the DRC outfit made a breakthrough to sign Mwaungulu.
“The transfer fees have been agreed between the clubs. Mazembe are working on the travel logistics for the players for medical tests. If the players pass medical tests, they will sign contracts,” Sapao said.

However, Sapao kept a tight lid on the transfer fees for the three players.
Unconfirmed reports indicate that Bullets were demanding K100 million for Mwaungulu and K70 million for Nkhoma. Wanderers were reportedly demanding K45 million for their captain.
Sapao said there are possibilities that one or two players would be loaned out to Mazembe’s sister side Don Bosco, which is owned by Moise Katumbi’s son.
“Mazembe is a priority but I cannot rule out Don Bosco. The decision will be made by Mazembe after the medical,’’ Sapao said.

Bullets Chief Administration Officer Albert Chigoga confirmed that the deals have been agreed in principle.

“Indeed, we have agreed. Once everything is completed he (Mwaungulu) will be traveling to Mazembe for medical,” Chigoga said.
Nkhoma has yet to find the back of the net in the TNM Super League this season whereas Mwaungulu has scored four goals.
On his part, Wanderers Chief Executive Officer Panganeni Ndovi said Chaziya was expected to travel to DRC Sunday via Zambia.
“He is travelling today [Sunday] to process his visa in Zambia and once he gets the visa he will proceed to DRC for his medical. Once successful, he will sign a deal,” Ndovi said.
The five-time African champions are no strangers to signing Malawian players.
Former Flames captain Joseph Kamwendo and striker Luke Milanzi played for the Lubumbashi based side.
Mazembe knocked Bullets out of the Caf Champions League following 5-0 win on aggregate in the second preliminary round last year.
