In addition to the K15 million, NBM plc is set to give out other prizes valued at K3.5 million. For instance, the first 500 people that will pay using Mopay at the festival will get a discount ticket.
Beerland Festival, which has been effervescent hosting events across the country, will host South African artist Young Stunna, who is expected to share the stage with local acts such as Temwah, Onesimus, Gwamba, Eli Njuchi, Malinga, Afana Ceez and Zonke Too Fresh.

“We have been observing and analysing Beerland Festival and they have impressed us by holding close to 37 events across the country with huge turnouts. The fact that they hold their events across the country means that they are able to interact with a range of clientele,” Hiwa said.
She said through the partnership, they are also trying to push their digital products with a focus on Mopay.
“Mopay is a digital service that is convenient and appeals to the young and the young at heart. We want people to embrace it and, so, through this event, we want people to utilise it. What we are saying is that the first 500 people that will pay using Mopay at the festival will get a discount ticket and also 50 people with the highest value or usage in purchasing different items will get cash prizes from the bank,” Hiwa said.
She called upon people to patronise the event, describing it as a celebration of talent.

“Let us go and get entertained, engage and network and, at the back of our minds, remember to use Mopay as well as our other digital services. This is also part of the continuation of our ‘Popanda Chifukwa Promotion’,” Hiwa said.
She said the future is digital and that NBM is trying to be the number one digitised bank by 2027.
It is not the first time NBM plc has supported the creative sector as it has provided sponsorship to university social weekends, among others.
Beerland Festival Chief Executive Officer Lucy Msowoya was on cloud nine with the sponsorship and hailed NBM for what she described as timely support.
