The High Court of Malawi’s Financial Crimes Division has discontinued two high-profile corruption and financial crimes cases involving former Reserve Bank of Malawi (RBM) governor Dalitso Kabambe, former RBM executive director Henry Mathanga and, in one case, former senior RBM official Cliff Kenneth Chiunda.
In two separate but related orders dated February 4, 2026, and signed by High Court Judge Redson Kapindu, the court confirms that criminal proceedings in Criminal Case Number 3 of 2025 and Criminal Case Number 19 of 2023 have been discontinued following certificates issued by the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP).
