Reserve sides for the country’s TNM Super League teams have avoided each other in the round-of-16 of the Champion Cup.
The line-up of matches was completed after the conclusion of round-of-32 action at Champion Stadium in Mponela, Dowa.
The weekend matches saw Villa FC and Kamuzu Barracks (KB) Reserve completing the list of teams in the round-of-16 after overpowering their opponents.
Villa marched into the round in style following a 3-0 thumping of Lumbadzi FC on Saturday while KB scraped through after edging Mayamiko 1-0.
Other reserve side teams in the competition are Silver Strikers, Mighty Mukuru Wanderers and FCB Nyasa Big Bullets.

KB Reserve’s reward for making it this far is a date against Leyman Panthers while Silver will take on MP Roma.
Wanderers Reserve will line up against Kamba FC whereas Bullets Reserve will lock horns with Namitete Zitha.
The competition’s fixture secretary Pilirani Chibwana said dates for commencement of round-of-16 matches will be announced after liaising with regional leagues.
“We have teams from all the three regions of the country and we cannot just fix dates without hearing from the regional leagues. We are working hand-in-hand with them to ensure a smooth flow of this competition,” Chibwana said.

Sponsor King Kabvina said they will celebrate the successful conclusion of round-of-32 matches with musical performances on Saturday.
“We are in jovial mood right now because all 16 matches in the round-of-32 were played and concluded without any incident. Winners won fairly and losers lost with dignity. We have not had any complaint from any team.
