Malawi National Football Team, the Flames, regrouped Monday as they continued preparing for the back-to-back 2026 World Cup qualifiers against Liberia and Tunisia.
The Flames will face Liberia in Monrovia on November 17 before hosting Tunisia at Bingu National Stadium four days later.
This is the Flames’ second week of preparations ahead of the two matches.
Coach Patrick Mabedi has summoned 19 players for the second week after having 16 players in the first week.
For the second week, FCB Nyasa Bullets have been exempted due to their busy schedule in the TNM Super League.

Football Association of Malawi Competitions and Communication director Gomezgani Zakazaka said the team would leave for Liberia next week.
“The technical panel will continue working with the players for three days between Monday and Wednesday and, then, release them for club assignments,” Zakazaka said.
According to Zakazaka, the list of foreign country-based players will be announced this week before the team’s departure on Monday.
The Flames are in Group H alongside Tunisia, Liberia, Namibia, Equatorial Guinea and Sao Tome and Principe.
Group winners will automatically qualify for the World Cup finals.
The four best second-placed teams will qualify for the play-offs.
