Netball Association of Malawi (Nam) former vice president Henry Kamata has been hired as Malawi National Council of Sports (MNCS) Executive Secretary (ES) on a three-year deal.
MNCS has been without a permanent ES since 2019, when George Jana retired.
In a press statement released Tuesday, MNCS announced that it had hired Kamata, adding that he is expected to assume offices Thursday.
“Kamata brings with him a wealth of knowledge, expertise and a distinguished academic background. He holds a PhD in Institutional Development from the University of California, an MSc in Finance and Investment from the University of Nottingham, a Master’s in Business Administration from Esami, a Bachelor of Business Administration from Heriot-Watt University and a Diploma in Business Studies from the University of Malawi,” the statement reads.
Shephord Boma was acting ES, after replacing Henry Mereka, who also worked in an acting capacity.
