Parliament Tuesday passed the K10.978 trillion 2026–27 National Budget, concluding weeks of scrutiny and debate over government spending plans.
The approval followed a vote-by-vote process in the Committee of Supply, where lawmakers adopted allocations across ministries, departments and agencies of the budget carries with it the expectations of the nation that this year will be different.
“However, we were promised fiscal prudence through massive expenditure reductions, yet the budget we have received seems contrary to that.
