Five Malawi National Football Team players and interim coach Patrick Mabedi have made it into the 2023 HollywoodBets Cosafa Cup best 11.
The five are goalkeeper Brighton Munthali, defenders Alick Lungu and Dennis Chembezi, and strikers Chawanangwa Kaonga and Lanjesi Nkhoma.
Lungu and Kaonga won man-of-the-match accolades against Zambia and Seychelles, respectively.
Chembezi fits the bill as he has provided great leadership skills at the back in three matches whereas Nkhoma has scored one goal and provided an assist.
Council of Southern African Football Associations released the list following the conclusion of group matches.

The Flames have been impressive in their performances during the tournament, qualifying for the semifinals with three straight wins and a clean sheet.
Mabedi has blended youth and experience in a team that is promising to go all the way to the final.
Former Flames attacking midfielder Sherry Msuku hailed the players and Mabedi for their respective achievements.
“They all deserve the recognition because they have performed very well. This is a good development for our football,” Msuku said.
