Silver Strikers coach Pieter de Jongh has accused Super League of Malawi (Sulom) of unprofessionalism after changing second-round TNM Super League fixtures.
Initially, Silver were supposed to host Extreme FC this weekend but the fixture change means the Central Bankers will face Bangwe All Stars at Mpira Stadium in Blantyre on Sunday.
Addressing journalists in Lilongwe Thursday, the Dutchman questioned the rationale of changing fixtures without any explanation.
“How is it possible that Sulom changes the fixture without explanation? In Holland, when they change the fixture, they give an explanation. In the English Premier League and in South Africa, they explain when they change the fixture,’’ he said.
The change follows Sulom’s release of fixtures for the entire season before the league kicked off.

However, Sulom General Secretary Williams Banda said changes were made to some second-round fixtures.
“The fixtures committee received observations on the second-round fixtures and made some reviews in line with the same. So the changes have come about due to what is in the calendar as explained by Football Association of Malawi,’’ Banda said.
Meanwhile, de Jongh has said he has been vindicated on the status of some of the pitches in domestic football following Fam’s ban of Civo and Mzuzu Stadiums.
“I always say the truth. Some five months ago I said my dog Pablo cannot play on that pitch in Mzuzu. The matches we played against Moyale in both the league and the FDH Bank cup should therefore be replayed,’’ he said.

Fam banned both Mzuzu and Civo stadiums with immediate effect saying the two facilities are in poor state.
Silver are second on the 16-member log table with 32 points from 17 matches, two points behind leaders FCB Nyasa Big Bullets.
Mighty Mukuru Wanderers and Chitipa United also have 32 points each but are third and fourth, respectively, after playing a similar number of matches.
