Malawi Women’s National Football Team captain Tabitha Chawinga has said she is not in a hurry to decide on her future after the end of the one-year loan contract with Paris Saint-Germain.
Tabitha had a great season in France, where she won the Player of the Season award and the Golden Boot accolade in her debut season.
However, Tabitha, who was on loan from Wuhan Jiandga, has six months left on her contract with the Chinese champions, which means she can sign a pre-contract with another team.
Following her impressive debut season in France, the Malawian is one of the most sought-after players in women’s football in Europe.
PSG are reportedly interested in turning her loan into a permanent deal whereas Italian women’s champions AS Roma have been long time admirers of the Malawian.
Some unnamed English clubs are also interested in her signature.
In an interview Wednesday, her manager Kuwala Msolomba confirmed that Tabitha has six months left on her contract with parent club Wuhan.
“She will communicate her future very soon when discussions are finalised,” she said.
Several African women’s footballers have found a new home in National Women’s Super League (NWSL) in United States of America (USA).
Her younger sister Temwa Chawinga left Wuhan and joined Kansas Current City on a two-and-half-year contract.
Zambia strikers Barbara Banda and Rachel Kundananji have moved to USA after playing in China and Spain, respectively.

Silver Strikers Ladies coach Andrew Chikhosi, in his own capacity, said it is obvious that Tabitha will be on demand in the summer transfer window.
“Every team in Europe would like to have a player like Tabitha. She performed well in the just-ended season in France,” Chikhosi said.
Tabitha helped PSG to finish as runners-up in French Women’s League after suffering a 2-1 loss to eventual champions Olympique Lyonnais.
She won the golden boot award after scoring 19 goals. On top of that, Tabitha helped PSG to win the Coupe de France. She scored five goals as PSG reached the semi-finals of Uefa Women’s Champions League.
