Minister of Justice Titus Mvalo is expected to testify in a case where Norman Chisale is being accused of using insulting language, intimidation and obstructing justice.
According to the amended charge sheet which The Daily Times has seen, the minister and former Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP), Steve Kayuni, are witnesses in the case,
Meanwhile, DPP Masauko Chamkakala told the court that Chisale threatened him in a letter which he allegedly wrote in October last year that “angry people can be dangerous and are difficult to handle”.
“He wrote that because of the delay [in his case]; he is frustrated and angry. Now, this, connected with the statement that an angry person can be dangerous and difficult to handle, coupled with his vast military training and power because of political connectedness, I feel that I myself, my family members and my officers, are threatened,” Chamkakala said.
Principal Resident Magistrate Roderick Michongwe has adjourned the case to today, when the State is expected to parade two more witnesses.

Police arrested Chisale in November last year on allegations that he had been threatening public officers involved in his criminal cases.
He is currently on court bail.
“The arrest follows complaints lodged by public officers from different institutions who allege that Mr Chisale has been confronting them with sordid threats for their respective roles in criminal cases that he is answering in courts of law or investigated on,” a statement signed by police spokesperson Peter Kalaya said.
