Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) has signed a memorandum of understanding with Netball Association of Malawi (Nam) on the fight against corruption.
The two bodies signed the agreement in Lilongwe on Wednesday.
Speaking after the signing ceremony, ACB Director General Martha Chizuma said the agreement will see the bureau using netball to disseminate anti-corruption messages.
Chizuma said the partnership will also help ACB in investigating netball-related cases such as sexual abuse and corruption in the allocation of umpires and players among others.

“We want to migrate to non-traditional means of fighting corruption because they have proven to be more effective. We also want people to know that our mandate is not only to focus on law enforcement, but that we are also focusing on public education and conflict prevention,” she said.
Nam General Secretary Isaac Chimwala said the association is committed to working with ACB in ensuring that people get the right messages concerning corruption.
“We would like to assure ACB that we will cooperate to ensure that this initiative achieves its goals. We will certainly play our part in fighting against corruption,” Chimwala said.
Recently, ACB won two awards from the International Anti-Corruption Academy for working with Football Association of Malawi and teaching values for a corruption-free Malawi in the education sector.
