Ten-man Mighty Wanderers blew a chance to go top of the TNM Super League table following a 1-1 draw against Karonga United at Karonga Stadium Sunday.
The result means Wanderers remain second with 23 points from nine matches, one point behind leaders FCB Nyasa Big Bullets. Both teams have played nine matches.
Both sides have matches on Wednesday, with Wanderers facing struggling Songwe Border United at the same venue, while Bullets will face Ekhaya FC at Kamuzu Stadium.
Wanderers remain the only unbeaten side in the TNM Super League this season.
So far, the Nomads have dropped points against Karonga and Silver Strikers (both 1-1) this season.

In a match monitored on Fifa+, Gaddie Chirwa put Wanderers in the lead in the 28th minute but Alfred Chizinga pulled the hosts level from the penalty spot in the 41st minute.

Both teams made some changes in search of a winner but none came.
Wanderers coach Bob Mpinganjira praised his players for showing grit.
“It was a good game. The boys showed great character to get a vital point away from home. The red card partly affected us,” Mpinganjira said.
Karonga coach Oscar Kaunda said it was a fair result.
“Fatigue took its toll on my players. It was really tough considering that we were coming from two losses,” Kaunda said.
Elsewhere, Mzuzu City Hammers and Chitipa United shared the spoils after a goalless stalemate at Rumphi Stadium.
Hammers remain stuck in the relegation zone with eight points from nine matches, while Chitipa are ninth with 13 points from 11 matches.
