The Parliamentary Committee investigating the Chikangawa plane crash says it is considering a digital forensic probe into evidence provided by former Malawi Defence Force (MDF) deputy commander John Msonthi and one of late vice-president Saulos Chilima’s close friends, Moses Nthakomwa.
The military plane crash killed nine people, including Chilima, on June 10, 2024.
During the first phase of the inquiry, Nthakomwa told the committee that Msonthi informed him by phone on the day of the incident that the aircraft carrying the nine people had crashed and all those on board had died.
