Luthando Holdings Limited has donated K2.5 million towards this year’s Presidential Charity Golf Tournament slated for Saturday at Lilongwe Golf Club.
This has made the company a copper sponsor of the tournament.
Speaking during the symbolic cheque presentation ceremony in Lilongwe on Tuesday, Luthando Holdings Managing Director Hendrix Laher said they are excited to contribute towards a good cause.
“We are honoured to be part of the Presidential Charity Golf Tournament. We support this initiative because it will empower survivors of Cyclone Freddy,” Laher said.
State House Press Secretary Anthony Kasunda received the donation on behalf of the organising committee and hailed the company for supporting the initiative.

“This will go a long way in assisting the President to reach out to as many survivors of Cyclone Freddy as possible. We also have needy university students who will benefit,” Kasunda said.
Tournament organisers earmarked 10 slots for copper sponsors at K2.5 million each.
Sponsors in this category are expected to field one golfer in the daylong tournament and stand a chance of being allocated advertising space before, during and after the event.
The tournament is aimed at raising funds to support Cyclone Freddy survivors and needy students from the country’s public universities
