Attorney General Frank Mbeta Tuesday denied authorising the purchase of the Amaryllis Hotel by the Public Service Pension Trust Fund (PSPTF).
Mbeta was speaking during his appearance before Parliament’s Public Accounts Committee (Pac) at the Parliament building in Lilongwe, as part of the ongoing public inquiry into the transaction.
Mbeta said reports presented to him by the Reserve Bank of Malawi (RBM) and the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) had highlighted financial prudence issues that required attention.
