Finca Malawi has supplied football equipment worth K52 million to all 16 teams participating in the 2026 Finca ‘Mpira Uyake’ Southern Region Football League (SRFL) ahead of the new season.
The support, which includes jerseys and footballs, forms part of Finca Malawi’s K100 million sponsorship package for the regional league.
Finca Malawi Chief Commercial Officer Madalitso Jonazi, speaking during the official handover ceremony at Mpira Village in Blantyre yesterday, said the initiative was aimed at strengthening competition and improving clubs’ preparation levels ahead of the new campaign.
“We are optimistic that the sponsorship will help us to improve the quality and competitiveness of the league,” he said.

Jonazi said the intervention addressed a long-standing challenge where many clubs have struggled to access uniforms and essential football equipment.
He said football remained a powerful platform that united communities and inspired young people across the country, adding that Finca Malawi’s involvement goes beyond sports development.
The 2026 Finca ‘Mpira Uyake’ Southern Region Football League is set to officially launch this weekend, with activities beginning on Friday in Mwanza District, before the opening fixture between Mwanza Stars and FCB Nyasa Big Bullets Reserve on Sunday at Joyce Chitsulo Stadium.
Southern Region Football Association Chairperson Dyless Kachala said the support marked the first time all participating teams had been fully equipped before the start of a season.

“No previous sponsor managed to provide uniforms to every participating club. Finca Malawi’s intervention is a milestone for football in the region,” he said.
Meanwhile, Nchima Football Club Team Manager Isaac Tambala, whose Thyolo-based side recently earned promotion to the league, said the support would ease financial pressure on clubs and motivate teams ahead of the campaign.
“The support has come at the right time. It will reduce our financial burden and motivate us to compete strongly in the league,” he said.
