Creck Sporting Club has hired Flames legend Ernest Mtawali as coach. Mtawali has penned a two-year contract.
The gaffer was unveiled at the club’s head office in Area 47, Lilongwe, Thursday, when he said he was ready to turn things around at Creck.
“I know it is a big assignment and big project. Creck is a club with big ambitions but I am confident that the team will move forward as it has good management,” Mtawali said.
He has replaced Eliya Kananji, who was relieved of his duties alongside two assistants Harrison Said and Blessings Tembo yesterday.
The club cited the team’s poor start to the 2026 FDH Bank Premiership.

Creck General Secretary Aaron Mtaya said they settled for Mtawali due to his track record as a coach.
“We looked at several options but we’re impressed with what Mtawali presented to us.
We believe he is a good coach and that he will help us a lot,” Mtaya said.
