In a rare union, multi-talented musician and producer Lulu has stitched a song titled ‘Musazilore’, which has seen him collaborating with Code Sangala.
Lulu, an artist from the outskirts of Kawale, who has collaborated with several artists, said he has trailed the traits of Code’s music since his sprees in Kapirintiya but did not get a chance to work with him.
But, finally, Lulu has succeeded to work with Code in ‘Musazilore’ set for release Friday.
“It is the first time I am working with Code. I relished every moment in the studio and he was very easy to work with,” the ‘Kumalembe’ star, who has worked with top artists such as Soldier Lucius Banda, said.
The singer and guitarist, who has in recent times thrilled people with his dance frolics and leads Mathumela Band, could not be drawn to empty out some of the librettos in the track that he said is more like a supplication.
Lulu last weekend performed at Mibawa Multipurpose Hall in Blantyre.
Code, a former Big Brother Africa representative who went solo after Kapirintiya and has managed to release songs like ‘Mukunama’ and ‘Kumadziore’, said this is a collaboration that “we had been talking about for a couple of years”.
Fresh from his performance at the ninth edition of Tumaini Festival at Dzaleka Refugee Camp in Dowa recently, Code said they were all busy the past years to join forces but decided to make time this year.
“We did the recordings in Lilongwe and it was produced by Mr Gravou,” he said.
