The transfer window slammed shut on Monday midnight, with giants Mighty Mukuru Wanderers and Silver Strikers failing to sign their targets.
Wanderers and Silver were locked in a transfer battle for Civil Service United talented midfielder Lloyd Aaron but both clubs failed to beat the deadline.
Aaron was on the verge of signing for either of the two clubs after both teams tabled offers to his parent club.
However, the two clubs made a sudden change of heart at the eleventh hour due to the K15 million transfer fee the player was pegged at.
Instead, both clubs tried to sign Aaron on loan until the end of the season.

Silver penned Civil, hoping to sign the holding midfielder.
“We are writing to request for the services of Lloyd Aaron on loan until December 2023 at a facilitation fee of K2 million,” reads a letter from Silver and signed by Chief Executive Officer Gift Mwale Gunde.
The Central Bankers also failed to sign Dedza Dynamos Salima Sugar striker Clement Nyondo, who is the leading goal scorer in the TNM Super League with 12 goals.
This means Silver have only bolstered their squad with George Chaomba from Mighty Tigers, who signed a three-year contract with the option to extend.

Silver Coach Pieter de Jongh could be disappointed as he was targeting six players in the just ended transfer window.
The Dutchman told reporters after his side lost 1-0 to Red Lions at Balaka Stadium that he wanted strikers.
On the part of Wanderers, they have only signed midfielder Francisco Madinga, who joined as a free agent after leaving Botswana outfit Jwaneng Galaxy.
Wanderers Chief Executive Officer Roosevelt Mpinganjira said the K15 million forced them to walk out of the deal for Aaron.
“We showed serious interest to sign him but we could not manage to pay K15 million. It was too much for us,” Mpinganjira said.
According to Mpinganjira, apart from Aaron, Wanderers were also interested in signing winger Robert Saizi from Bangwe All Stars but the deal did not go through.
However, midfielder Mathews Masamba has joined Bangwe from Wanderers on loan deal until December.
In a separate interview Tuesday, Aaron said he was disappointed that his wish was not granted during the transfer window.
“I will meet Civil officials to discuss the future,” he said.
It was a quiet transfer window for FCB Nyasa Big Bullets as they neither signed nor released a player.
Bullets Chief Administration Officer Albert Chigoga said they were not interested in making panic buys.
Meanwhile, Civil have signed veteran defender Harry Nyirenda and midfielder Frank Banda. Nyirenda joined as a free agent after he left Ekwendeni Hammers whereas Banda was released at Silver before the start of the season.
Defender Willard Dickson has joined Extreme FC from Civil whereas Chasimbiwe Kanyika has been released by the civil servants.
Red Lions were the busiest team during midseason window, having registered Franklin Titani, Fletcher Bandawe, Marko Kapito and Gift Phiri.
Ronald Pangani and Brighton Ngwenyama have also renewed their contracts with the Zomba-based soldiers.
Mafco have signed Marshal Maluwa and Prince Kachere from Kamuzu Barracks and Airborne Rangers, respectively.
Blue Eagles have bolstered their squad with three players including Malawi National Beach Soccer team goalkeeper Justin Bonongwe.
On the part of KB, they have promoted one player from their Reserve side.
